Med Spa Etiquette

Punctuality: Arrive at least 15-30 minutes early so you can enjoy an unhurried transition into the spa and shower if necessary. Arriving early affords us the opportunity to have you fill out any necessary paperwork in advance without it interfering with your treatment time. The spa starts and ends all treatments on time. If you are late, your treatment time will be shortened. You should exit the treatment room within 5 minutes of the service. Should you require additional relaxation time, enjoy the relaxation areas of the spa.

Cancelation PolicyPlease provide at least 24 hour notice when canceling or re-scheduling any medical or spa services. A no call/no show may result in a charge to your account without further notice. Rx Med Day Spa reserves the right to request and hold credit card numbers for medical and/or spa service appointments.

Cell Phones Etc: Please be respectful of other clients privacy and quiet time while in the spa. All cell phones should be silenced or shut off completely while in the spa. Cell phone use is prohibited in the spa. If in an emergency you need to use your cell phone, the front entrance foyer may be used for phone calls. Please also keep any conversation on the phone or otherwise to a low volume.

Gratuities: Gratuities are not included in pricing and are at the discretion of our guests. It is customary to tip therapists 20% or more of the full value of the treatment. For your convenience envelopes are provided at the front desk. If you receive multiple treatments, please tip each therapist accordingly.  Medical procedures performed by a MD do not warrant a gratuity.

Gift Cards:  Gift cards make the perfect gift for your loved ones. Purchase one online here. Gift cards cannot be returned or redeemed for cash.

Eating & Drinking: Try not to eat for at least an hour or so before a spa treatment, and avoid the consumption of alcohol all together on the day of a treatment. Drink plenty of water before and after your treatment to flush out any toxins released during your service.

Sharing the Spa: While enjoying the sauna or steam, it is proper etiquette to sit on your towel and to wear the plastic shoes provided by the spa. Women and Men should not shave in the bathrooms or steam rooms. Robes & Sandals are provided for your comfort and privacy. Please be respectful of others and always remain appropriately covered in common areas.

Children: The spa is meant to be a place of relaxation and quiet, so it is best to not to bring children under the age of 16 unless prior arrangements have been made with the director - please call in advance of treatment. Absolutely no children are allowed to be present for any medical or laser treatment appointments.

Communicating Your Preferences: All aspects of treatment can be modified to your taste: amount of light, music level and whether or not you choose to have a conversation or enjoy the treatment in silence. During a massage, let the therapist know if the pressure level is what you prefer. During body treatments or facials feel free to ask questions about the products, procedures or expectations of the service. If any part of your experience is unsatisfactory, first tell the therapist. If the response is not helpful, speak to the director of the spa.

Medical Conditions or Allergies: Inform the spa before booking a service of your medical condition or allergic concerns so we may help select the right service for you. Some services may have contraindications for who should receive them. Massage treatments are generally performed with hypo-allergenic, unscented, all natural and organic paraben-free products.

Client Requests: You may request a specific Massage Therapist while booking an appointment. We cannot guarantee that we will have your request available at all times. All Spa employees are trained to respect the privacy of our guests and to create a comfortable, relaxing environment for all.
